CareNotes AI is based in New York. The product was built chairside in two Manhattan group practices, by clinicians seeing a full schedule of patients while owning and running the offices.

Patient privacy is part of the design.
HIPAA, PIPEDA, and GDPR compliant. Speech-to-text runs on the device, so patient audio does not leave the phone. PHI is not used to train models. A Business Associate Agreement is executed with the practice. For U.S. customers, production infrastructure is in the United States.
