Pricing & setup
Free core. Premium when you want the integration.
What does CareNotes cost?
The only thing we charge for is integration with practice management software (because PMS companies charge us), but the core app? Free. Premium is a subscription with no contract, zero commitment. Cancel anytime. See pricing for current plans.
What’s the catch?
No catch. We built this because we were staying late, unable to go home to our families after practicing full-time, seeing 20+ patients a day, while owning and managing two busy group practices in Manhattan. We knew there had to be a better way, so we created it. Try it, and you’ll see.
Do I have to integrate with my PMS?
Not at all. With copy-paste mode, you can still use CareNotes quickly and efficiently. But if you do integrate, your notes go straight into the patient chart, saving even more time. See all integrations.
How long does it take to get set up?
Under two minutes. Download the app, sign up, and you’re good to go. No demo, no onboarding, no training, no nonsense. The Starter Guide walks through the first day if you want it.
How do I get started?
Download CareNotes from the App Store or Google Play, sign up in minutes, and start saving time today.
Daily workflow
One tap before the patient. The note is ready after.
How does CareNotes save me time?
We generate real-time, AI-powered clinical notes from you and your patient’s speech. As soon as you finish an appointment, your note is ready to sign. No extra typing, no wasted time.
Do I need to change my workflow?
Nope. Just tap record on your iPhone before seeing your next patient, that’s it. CareNotes types, formats, and finalizes your notes while you work. When you’re done, so is your note.
Can I use CareNotes on my phone?
Yes! It’s a mobile-first app, so you can finish notes anywhere: between patients, at lunch, or even at home. No internet required, so even if you’re in the subway on your way home, you can still wrap up your notes.
Can I dictate my notes?
Yes! Talk, type, or let AI generate them for you. Whatever works best for you.
Forgot to hit record? No problem. Just talk to CareNotes like you’re talking to a personal scribe, and it’ll write the note for you, just as if it had been recording the whole time.
What if my office uses templates?
We support custom templates, so you can keep using the note structure you already love.
Will CareNotes slow me down?
No. The goal is to finish the note after the last patient, not at home. One tap before you walk in; the chart-ready draft is waiting when you walk out.
AI & accuracy
You review and sign every note.
How accurate are the AI-generated notes?
Pretty darn accurate. But we know every dentist has their own style, so you can edit anything before finalizing. And no need to type: you can simply talk to your notes to make edits.
You review and sign every note. Edits can be spoken. Procedure-specific agents (crown, perio, meds, billing codes) keep the draft in dental language, then you decide what goes in the chart.
Do I need to train the AI?
Nope. CareNotes works out of the box. Just start using it, and it’ll learn your style over time.
The more you use it, the better it gets at customizing to your specific way of writing notes, eventually requiring little to no edits at all, saving you even more time.
What’s this “CareAssist” feature?
CareAssist remembers your patients for you. Before an appointment, it summarizes previous notes so you don’t have to scroll through pages of history. Think of it as your personal AI cheat sheet.
What’s next for CareNotes?
We’re working on insurance claim automation, smarter AI features, and even real-time treatment planning. Stay tuned, and follow along on What’s New.
Team & specialties
Built for the whole office.
Does CareNotes work for specialists?
Absolutely. We support GPs, periodontists, oral surgeons, orthodontists, endodontists, prosthodontists, you name it.
We even have a feature for referral requests and reports, making it easier than ever to communicate with specialists and keep patient care seamless.
Does it work with hygienists?
Yes! Hygienists can use CareNotes for perio charting, clinical notes, and patient summaries too.
In fact, it works for any healthcare professional who needs fast, accurate, and effortless documentation.
Can my associates and team use it too?
Of course! The more the merrier. Everyone in your practice can use CareNotes to stay on the same page. Premium is priced per location with unlimited users.
What if I need help?
We’re real dentists building this for other dentists. You can reach out anytime at info@cnotes.ai. We actually listen and use your feedback to improve the app so other doctors can benefit even more.
Privacy & consent
HIPAA, on-device audio, and recording laws.
Is this HIPAA compliant?
Yes. CareNotes maintains a HIPAA compliance program and signs a Business Associate Agreement with each practice before any PHI is processed. Speech-to-text runs on your device, so patient audio never leaves the phone. Transcripts and notes are encrypted in transit and at rest, and your data is never used to train AI models. Your data is your data. Details live on the Trust Center.
What about recording & patient consent in other states?
CareNotes uses audio recording to capture clinical information, but recording laws vary by state. Most states are “one-party consent,” meaning that only one person involved in the recording (e.g., the provider) needs to be aware of and consent to the recording. However, some states require “all-party consent,” meaning everyone being recorded must agree.
Below is a general breakdown:
Because rules can differ depending on context or local statutes, many practices choose to include a brief statement about recording in their patient intake forms or consent paperwork for transparency and peace of mind.
